Clear Lake, TX

Clear Lake bee removal for chimneys, townhomes, and soffits.

Clear Lake housing stacks bees into chimneys, shared soffits, and the skinny cavities in townhome rows. Neighbors hear it before they see it. We locate with a thermal camera so we don’t open the wrong unit.

What shows up in Clear Lake

A hanging swarm on a patio tree still happens. More often we get “buzzing in the fireplace” or bees walking a second-story soffit on a building with three other families. That’s a cutout with access rules — we talk to the owner or HOA before we cut.

  • Chimney and fireplace colonies
  • Townhome and condo soffit cutouts (owner / HOA on the call)
  • Swarms on patios and play equipment
  • Comb out, cavity cleaned, original gap screened

NASA-side, still League City home base

Clear Lake covers the NASA-side neighborhoods between Houston and Galveston Bay. Townhome soffits, chimneys, and marina or condo walls are the usual access problems. League City remains home base. This is bay coverage we drive, not a local office.

Leave the entrance open. Keep kids and pets inside. If a gate, a dock, or a building manager controls the wall, put that person on the call before we roll.

Bees in Clear Lake homes near NASA and the water

If bees are going in and out of one spot on your Clear Lake home for more than a day, a colony has moved in. Don't spray it and don't plug the gap. Call 281-910-5864 or send photos through the quote form, and we'll tell you whether it's a swarm or a cutout.

Clear Lake is the part of southeast Houston around NASA's Johnson Space Center and the shores of Clear Lake, which opens into Galveston Bay. It's a short drive north of our League City home base. Housing is a mix of single-family subdivisions, townhome rows, apartments, and condos near the water.

Where hives turn up here: chimney chases and fireplace flues, soffits and eaves on two-story homes, shared townhome walls, attic gable vents, and water meter or irrigation boxes in the yard. Near the lake and the bay the air stays humid, so comb left in a wall softens, leaks honey, and draws pests. That's why we take the comb out, not just the bees. See Bees in your wall, soffit, or attic and How it works.

Swarms: spring is the busiest time for swarms around Clear Lake, and they can still show up on warm days later in the year. A swarm hanging on a patio tree or balcony rail is resting, not nesting. Keep people and pets back, don't spray it, and call. If it's still there the next day, or bees start going into the building, it's turning into a hive.

What to do now: note which unit and which side of the building, have the owner or HOA contact ready, and call 281-910-5864 or use the quote form. For the rest of the city, see Houston bee removal. Finished jobs: Case studies.

Where bees settle in Clear Lake homes

Clear Lake City opened in 1963 on the old West ranch. Humble Oil's Friendswood Development Company built it near NASA's new Manned Spacecraft Center. Oakbrook, Camino South, and Clear Lake Forest were among the first neighborhoods, and Brook Forest and Middlebrook followed in the 1970s. In these older homes, bees use wall voids, porch ceilings, attic eaves, and chimney chases.

Houston annexed Clear Lake City in 1977. Bay Forest sits along El Dorado Boulevard between Space Center Boulevard and Horsepen Bayou, which runs east into Armand Bayou. Some Brook Forest and Bay Forest homes back up to the bayou. On these homes, check soffit corners and attic eaves. In the yard, check water meter boxes, irrigation valve boxes, sheds, and fence lines.

We remove the colony live: find the cavity, open only what the comb needs, take the bees and comb, and close the opening. If your yard backs up to a bayou, say so on the call. Call Honeybee Removal at 281-910-5864.

Clear Lake questions

Who does live bee removal in Clear Lake, TX?
Honeybee Removal — Charles Manning — does live honey bee removal and cutouts in Clear Lake from nearby League City. The bees are relocated and the comb comes out; we are not an exterminator. Call Honeybee Removal at 281-910-5864 or send photos.
Do you have a shop in Clear Lake?
No. League City is home base. Clear Lake is NASA-side and bay coverage we drive. There is no Clear Lake storefront.
What about a chimney, a townhome soffit, or a shared wall?
Those need the owner, and often the association, before we open anything. Shared walls mean we do not cut the wrong unit. Tell us which building and which side on the first call.
The bees are at a marina or a condo. Can you just show up?
Not without a building or gate contact. We need someone who can let us to the wall before we roll. Leave that name and number on the form.
How do I tell a Clear Lake swarm from a cutout?
A cluster that landed today on a patio tree or playset is usually a swarm. Buzzing in a fireplace, or bees walking one soffit for days, means comb is built. That is a cutout.
Why not spray a bay-side cavity?
Humidity keeps those soffits and chimneys damp. Leftover comb stains, smells, and draws the next swarm. We take the bees when we can move them safely, pull the comb, and screen the entry.
When can I call?
Call 281-910-5864 anytime. Keep kids and pets inside and leave the entrance open. We will say whether the drive from League City works today.
When is swarm season in Clear Lake?
Spring is the busiest, and swarms can still show up on warm days later in the year. Keep people back, don't spray it, and call 281-910-5864.
Is Clear Lake part of your Houston service area?
Yes. Much of Clear Lake sits inside Houston city limits, and we cover it from our League City home base along with the rest of Greater Houston. Call 281-910-5864 or send the address through the quote form.
How much does bee removal cost in Clear Lake?
It depends on where the hive is and how much has to be opened. Honeybee Removal quotes Clear Lake jobs from photos first, then gives you a firm price before any work starts. See the bee removal cost guide.
Where do honey bees usually build in Clear Lake houses?
In older Clear Lake City homes in Oakbrook, Camino South, Clear Lake Forest, Brook Forest, and Middlebrook: wall voids, porch ceilings, attic eaves, and chimney chases. In Bay Forest and homes that back up to Horsepen Bayou: soffit corners and attic eaves. In yards: water meter boxes, irrigation valve boxes, sheds, and fence lines. Honeybee Removal takes the bees and comb out live. Call Honeybee Removal at 281-910-5864.
Is bee removal free in Clear Lake?
Swarms and established hives are priced differently. A swarm hanging on a branch or fence is usually a short capture visit, with no opening of the structure. An established hive in a wall, soffit, or attic is a cutout: we open the structure, remove the comb, clean the cavity, and repair what we opened, so it costs more. Send photos for a range, and you get a firm price before any work starts.
