How much does bee removal cost?+
For the full breakdown of what sets the price (swarm vs hive, access, sealing), see Bee removal cost. Cost depends on access, size, and location — we need a look, so call or send photos. The main factors are: whether it's a hanging swarm or an established hive with comb; where the colony is (tree, shed, soffit, wall, attic, chimney, floor); height and access (ladder, lift, second story, roof); how long the bees have been there and how much comb has been built; how much cutting, repair and sealing is needed; and your location in Greater Houston. Send photos and we'll give you a range, then a firm price before any work starts.
What's the difference between live bee removal and extermination?+
An exterminator kills the bees and usually leaves the comb and honey inside the wall, where it can melt, stain, smell and attract ants, roaches, rodents and new swarms. Live removal takes out the bees and the comb, relocates the colony when it can be moved safely, and seals the entry so bees don't move back in. Honeybee Removal does live removal, not extermination.
How long does a bee removal take?+
A swarm hanging on a branch or fence is usually a short visit. A hive inside a wall, attic or soffit is a cutout and takes longer, depending on the size of the colony, how long it has been there and how hard it is to reach. Most jobs are finished in one visit; we'll give you a time estimate after seeing photos.
Are the bees relocated?+
Yes, whenever possible. We collect the bees and comb, look for the queen and move the colony to a hive away from your property. A colony that has been sprayed or is badly damaged may not survive, but we still remove the comb.
Do you do attic and wall cutouts?+
Yes. When bees have built comb inside an attic, wall, soffit, eave, ceiling or chimney, we open the area, remove the bees and all the comb, clean up, close what we opened and seal the original entry point so a new swarm isn't attracted to the same spot.
What areas do you serve?+
We're based in League City / Dickinson and serve Greater Houston, including League City, Dickinson, Friendswood, Clear Lake, Webster, Kemah, Seabrook, Pearland, Pasadena, Baytown, La Porte, Deer Park, Texas City, La Marque, Santa Fe, Galveston, Alvin, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Stafford, Bellaire and Houston. Call 281-910-5864 to confirm your address.
Why can’t you just spray them?+
You can kill the bees. You cannot kill the comb. Pounds of honey and wax left in a wall melt, stain, smell, and attract ants, roaches, rodents, and the next swarm. A real removal takes the colony and the comb.
Is this a swarm or a hive?+
If they arrived today and they’re clustered in a ball on a branch, fence, or wall, that’s a swarm — a colony looking for a home. If they’ve been using one hole for a week or more, or you hear buzzing in a wall, that’s an established hive with comb. The form asks how long for this reason. See Bee swarm removal.
Do you come the same day?+
You can call 24 hours a day. Same-day arrival is most likely if you reach us before 2 p.m. and you’re in Houston & Greater Houston. Swarms are time-sensitive — they may move by evening. Established hives can usually wait a day without getting worse, unless bees are coming indoors or someone has been stung.
I rent. Who pays?+
If bees are entering living space, or blocking a door, that’s a habitability issue — talk to the landlord with our quote in hand. If the colony is in a wall or chimney and not coming inside, the owner still owns the structure. We will speak with a property manager. Mark “rental” on the form.
Are these Africanized bees?+
Greater Houston honey bees can be defensive, especially in summer heat. We treat every structural hive as if it might be. That means suits, smoke, and not working a hot hive over a playground at noon. If they’re already stinging, keep people inside and call — don’t swat the entrance.
Do you repair the wall?+
Yes. A cutout that leaves a hole is unfinished. We close what we open and screen the original entry. Matching historic stucco or custom millwork may need a follow-up trade; we’ll say so before we start.
Should I send photos?+
Yes, after we have your number. The entrance, a shot of the whole wall or tree, and the ground in front of it. That lets us count stories and judge access without a wasted trip.
What if I already sealed the hole?+
Open it back up if you can do so safely. Sealed bees chew toward light — often into a room. Tell us on the form. We’ll plan for bees that are already indoors.
Do the bees survive?+
Swarms, almost always. Structural colonies, whenever the comb can be moved and the queen found. A hive that’s been sprayed, or that’s fused into rotten framing, may not be savable. We still remove the comb.
Swarm or established hive — does League City humidity change that?+
No — a swarm is still a cluster that just arrived; an established hive has comb in a cavity. Coastal humidity and heat make comb melt and stain faster once bees are dead, which is why we pull the comb on cutouts in eaves and attic walls around League City. If they showed up today on a branch or fence, that is usually a swarm catch. If they have been using one hole for a week or more, that is a hive. Call 281-910-5864 or send photos.
We live in an HOA or gated neighborhood (South Shore Harbour and similar). Can you get a truck and ladder in?+
Yes, when we have a gate code or guest pass and a clear driveway or parking spot for the truck and ladder. Put the gate code and any HOA rules on the request form. Keep kids and pets inside while we work. Matching a specific brick or stucco blend can take a follow-up pass; we say that before we start.
Do you do same-day or after-hours bee removal?+
Call anytime at 281-910-5864 — we answer when we can and schedule from photos. Same-day is most likely if you reach us earlier in the day and you are in Greater Houston; swarms are time-sensitive and may move by evening. Established hives can usually wait a day unless bees are coming indoors or someone has been stung.
I rent. Should I call, or should my landlord?+
Either can call — we need someone who can authorize access and payment. If bees are entering living space or blocking a door, tell the landlord with our quote in hand; that is a habitability issue for them to handle. If the colony is in a wall or chimney and not coming inside, the owner still owns the structure. Mark rental on the form and we will speak with a property manager when needed.
Is bee removal free?+
Swarms and established hives are priced differently. A swarm hanging on a branch or fence is usually a short capture visit, with no opening of the structure. An established hive in a wall, soffit, or attic is a cutout: we open the structure, remove the comb, clean the cavity, and repair what we opened, so it costs more. Send photos for a range, and you get a firm price before any work starts.
